  • Infants, children, adolescents, adults and special risks groups are eligible to receive some vaccines for free under the National Immunisation Program (NIP). The Victorian government also funds the provision of some vaccines that are not included on the NIP.

Immunisation for special-risk groups include:

- Vulnerable people with socioeconomic disadvantage

- Children and adolescents in out-of-home care

- Medically at-risk people

- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

- Refugees and Asylum Seekers

- Age, lifestyle and occupation

Seasonal Influenza Vaccine

- Special risk groups are eligible to receive the seasonal influenza vaccine for free under the  National Immunisation Program (NIP).

- Victoria funds free seasonal influenza vaccine for all infants and children from six months to under five years of age.

- Age-specific, high-immunogenicity influenza vaccine for all infants and children from six months to under five years of age.

* Always check with your provider that your prescribed vaccines are appropriate for your age; and make sure your health provider reports all vaccinations, including influenza vaccines, to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR)
